FAQ's
Why get the harps plated in 24kt Gold ?.
-
Aside from looking great up on stage with an instrument in gold, the plated parts tend to be more durable than your factory chromed, or nickel plated covers, and certainly more so than the painted parts.
-
As long as you treat the instruments well by making sure you clean them off after every session, and using a scratch resistent cleaner, and a soft cloth then the gold will last longer than most harmonica reeds. Just swap out the old combs/reed plates, and put the gold plates on the new harp.
-
We can supply you new reed plates and/or combo packs of reed plates with comb separately. Feel free to contact us for what you're looking for.
Do I need to clean the gold specially ?.
-
You need to make sure that you use a scratch resistant cleaner, and a soft cloth. We have our own specially made cleaner that we can supply to you.

Is there a special cleaner for the gold ?.
How long does the gold last ?.
-
We can't tell you in a number of years etc.., but as long as you look after your instrument by cleaning it after every session, and by using a scratch resistant cleaner, and a soft cloth, your 24kt gold plated parts will more likely outlast the instrument's internal parts.

How thick is the gold ?.
Can you gold plate anything ?.
Can you gold plate reeds ?.
What does it mean to gold plate the inside as well as the outside of the cover plates ?.
Why does it take so long to get my gold harmonica ?.
-
For one. We don't have every harmonica in stock. There are so many models, and keys it's physically, and financially impossible for us to keep everything here. We do keep quite a good selection, but it seems never the ones everyone wants all the time, so we have to rely on suppliers getting the instruments to us, and all being well, they have them in stock as well.
-
Two. The gold work is done by hand, so that means that all instruments are stripped of their platable parts, cleaned, prepped for the plating application. All parts are then cleaned, put back onto the instrument, and re-cleaned ready to ship.
